The 11th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) Youth Climathon 2024 is an upcoming event that aims to bring together young individuals who are passionate about sustainability and climate change.

11th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) Youth Climathon 2024
As a co-sponsor of the 11th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD), the United Nations Environment Programme Asia-Pacific (ESCAP), Hackathon Thailand, Youth Empowerment in Climate Action Platform, Global Climate Action Partnership, and Asia LEDS partnership are organizing this climate action ideation, which aims to inspire young people in the Asia-Pacific region (ages 18 to 30) to come up with creative yet workable solutions to accelerate climate action.
The following categories will contain the solutions:
- Electric mobility
- Climate-smart food systems and agriculture.
- Climate-resilient and adaptable urban areas.
- Preservation of natural ecosystems.
- Simply switch.
The chosen young people will be divided into three-person teams and given a week to design their proposal. The top three teams will then advance to the APFSD for a final selection process following a pre-selection procedure.
In addition to potential prospects, the winning team will have the chance to showcase their solution at the APFSD expo. There will be two parts to the Climathon: online and in person.
This segment of the climate will begin online and run for two days. Participants will first participate in preparatory workshop sessions. After that, participants will work on their solutions and upload them to the internet.

Eligibility Criteria
- Open to young people between the ages of 18 and 30 from the Asia-Pacific area (ESCAP member states).
- You have the option to apply individually or in a group of three.
Application
Fill out the application completely, and send it in before December 31, 2023. Notifications to applicants will start in January 2024.
