Build PHED Leadership Program 2024 (Fully-funded)

With an emphasis on women and youth, the BUILD project will establish a global PHED leadership program to cultivate and foster the next generation of PHED leaders. The initiative will choose participants from four geographic areas and provide training for different cohorts in Kenya (East Africa), Malawi (Southern Africa), and the Philippines (Asia Pacific).

The initiative aims to assist and execute PHED-related projects by young people, especially women, from government, local, national, regional, and international agencies; civil society organizations (CSOs); the commercial sector; and other groups.

The first cohort of the Southern Africa training will take place in Malawi from February 5–16, 2024, while the second cohort will train from April 22–May 3, 2024. Each cohort of the program will have about 20 participants, including planners, social influencers, program and project officials, advocates, community leaders, and policymakers from Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Applications are being accepted by the BUILD project for the Southern Africa cohort in February and the cohort in April–May of 2024. The program consists of a 12-day in-person training event in Malawi, followed by 12 months of virtual follow-up sessions. The goal of the follow-up sessions is to provide participants with the background knowledge and cross-sectoral skills necessary to plan, advocate for, and carry out integrated programming that is responsive to interconnected development goals.
