Inspire Creation

IG hopes viewers on the platform see a Reel and want to replicate it on their own profile. The major factor here is to create something others can recreate while incorporating their own creativity on it, just like most challenges we see on the TikTok platform.

Share Unique Content

Try to make your content different from other people’s content. Make your content with a consistent format and theme that people can recognize you for. Try to always create a pattern that followers can recognize you for and look forward to.

Keep Your Reel simple

Ensure you record with your phone and use effects in the Reels camera. This ties in with inspiring creation — because if you have something too high-end, it’s not easy to replicate.

Always Keep it Relevant & Relatable

One thing about making an engaging Reel is that viewers want to be able to see themselves in your content and relate to it. However, try to always include something that’s “of the moment” in your Reels. Maybe you want to create content around a certain time of year, day of the week, or a cultural moment — from politics to music to gaming and more. Try to either add a trending song to your Reel or add music that’s relevant to the content you’re creating.

Story Telling

Telling a story is one of the important things to all marketing strategies and should trickle down to each piece of content. So, try to tell a story, in the story you can make your audience part of the story and make it an interesting one.

  • Once you’ve decided on your video length, you can choose how long your clips will be by selecting the stopwatch icon. So, when you set a timer, there’s a countdown before the recording starts. You can choose between a 3 second and 10-second countdown.
  • To change the countdown duration, click the number next to “Countdown”.
  • One can scroll across to apply effects or AR filters to your Instagram Reels video. You can choose to use any previously saved filters or you can scroll to the end and click on “Browse Effects”.
  • You can either hold down the record button to capture footage or upload video footage from your camera roll.
  • If you want to trim or delete any of the clips you’ve filmed, press the back arrow to the right of the record button. Click into the individual clip you want to edit. Either tap the scissors to trim and the trash to delete.
  •  You’re OK with the result that is fine but if not, you can use the draw and text tools and select from a number of Instagram Stickers.
  • If you’re creating a video with a voiceover or dialogue, be sure to add closed captions to your videos.
Still on creating Reels: When adding text to your videos, keep the text placement in mind. Because when you share an Instagram Reel to the feed, Instagram crops it to 4:5 dimensions. So, to avoid important text from being cropped, keep your text close to the middle of the screen.
After that, you can now share your masterpiece to your Stories, Explore Feed, and the new Reels tab on your profile.
