Joshua Can Win the Rematch Against Usyk if he Makes the Most of his Physicality-Eddy Reynoso

Last year, September to be precise, Anthony Joshua lost his match against Oleksandr Usyk by Unanimous points. He failed to get close to Usyk in over 12 rounds and lost his heavyweight titles in the process.

After exercising his rematch clause immediately after his defeat, he flirted with the idea of stepping aside to allow Usyk and Tyson Fury to battle it out for the undisputed crown.

But according to Eddy Reynoso, Joshua must take advantage of his physicality and throw better combinations to defeat Oleksandr Usyk.

Joshua Expected to Lock Horns with Usyk again

Since Tyson Fury is now set to defend his WBC strap against Dillian Whyte, it is now expected that Anthony Joshua will meet with Oleksandr Usyk for the second time. This match is expected to take place in late March or early April this year.

Although Rob McCracken will have to be involved with the rematch somehow, Anthony Joshua will be having a new lead trainer in his corner for the rematch.

In his recent trip to the U.S, the Brit enjoyed some trial sessions with the well-esteemed coach, Reynoso.

Other coaches he visited on his tour of America are Robert Garcia and Ronnie Shields. AJ is still yet to announce who his new coach will be.

Reynoso Offers Joshua Some Valuable Advice

The esteemed coach believes that Joshua needs to make the most of his physical traits during their rematch.

The esteemed coach still offered the former champion some crucial advice ahead of his expected second meeting with Usyk.

‘I think to work his distance more, better combinations,’ the Mexican told Fight Hub TV.

‘He has a lot of good traits, a lot of good physical traits, but doesn’t take advantage of them.’

Reynoso is Also Ruiz‘s Trainer – Joshua Can Win the Rematch Against Usyk if he Makes the Most of his Physicality-Eddy Reynoso

Also, Reynoso is training Joshua’s old rival Andy Ruiz Jr who gave him his first loss in June 2019. Joshua avenged his knockout defeat against Ruiz six months later by outboxing him over 12 rounds.

The coach of Canelo Alvarez hopes to coach Joshua for the rematch against Usyk. The coach does not mind Ruiz‘s quest for a third fight, he wants the both of them in his courts.

‘I’m a boxing trainer and willing to work with anyone, him included,’ he continued. ‘however, it’s just a thing of when the fights will be happening, and are we ready.

‘Yeah, I spoke to Joshua and [his promoter Eddie] Hearn to see what can be done and we will see what’s next.

‘No, there’s no conflict having Joshua there with Andy, they don’t both have fights, so there’s the opportunity to work with both of them.’
