MTN is a multinational mobile telecommunications company own by South America. The company operates in many African and Asian countries, including Nigeria. Its head office is located in Johannesburg. MTN recorded 280 million subscribers, as of December 2020, which makes it the ninth-largest mobile network operator in the world, and also the largest in Africa.
It offers two-three different scholarships for eligible undergraduates in Nigeria such as the science and technology scholarship, The scholarship for the Blind, and the Top 10 UTME scholarship.
MTN Undergraduate Science and Technology Scholarship 2021
Science and technology scholarship is in its 12th year. It is open to qualified 300 level students studying Science & Technology-related courses, in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education).
300 successful candidates have been given scholarships worth N200,000.00 annually until graduation if they maintain the required grades.
MTN Undergraduate Scholarship for Blind Students 2021
Scholarship for the blind students currently in their 10th year. The program is targeted at qualified 200 level blind students studying any course in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education).
However, the company offers 60 eligible blind students’ scholarships worth N200,000.00 annually till graduation if they maintain the required CGPA.
Top 10 UTME MTN Undergraduate Scholarship
The top 10 UTME award is the latest addition to the MTN Scholarship program and it started in 2020. How does it work, yearly, the top 10 scoring candidates of UTME as announced by JAMB, automatically qualify for the top 10 UTME scholarship?
So, successful students are given scholarships worth N200,000.00 from their 100 level through to graduation if they maintain the required grades. Also, the Top 10 UTME Scholarship awards are given minding the successful candidates’ preferred course of study or Tertiary Institution (Public or Private in Nigeria).
MTN Scholarship 2021 Eligibility/Requirements
To qualify for MTN Scholarships, below are the eligibility criteria:
- Applicants Nigeria.
- Must be a University, Polytechnics, or College of Education student.
- For MTN Science and Technology Scholarship– 300 level students.
- MTN Scholarship for Blind Students– 200 level students.
- For Top 10 UTME Scholarship– 100 level students.
- The Course of Study must be All Science & Technology-related courses.
However, shortlisted candidates are to come for an assessment test with the following;
- 2 recent passport photographs.
- A valid Student ID card (original copy).
- Original copy of proof of CGPA (For undergraduate students).
- Original copy of means of identification – National ID card, international passport, or Driver’s license.
- Admission letter from JAMB and institution of study.
- Admission letter for the HND programs- For Polytechnic students only.

- It should take you to the application page, where you will access the form.
- For your personal information, you need to provide; Your surname, First Name, Middle Name, Gender, date of birth, State of origin local government, the local government of residence others.
- Click the Next button.
- On the new page, provide cover Personal Address, email, phone number, and passport upload.
