The organization was founded in 2013 by David and Barbara Roux. This organization was primarily formed to reward innovation in the application of the disease burden research.
Roux Prize 2021
The Roux Prize recognizes the person who has used health evidence in bold ways to make people healthier and achieve better health standard. They also give recognition to those who highlight just what is possible when visionaries use health evidence to change lives
The Roux Prize is in collaboration with the Institute for Health Metric and Evaluation. This is to enable them to be diagnosing the world’s health problems and identifying solutions to these problems.
The IHME is an independent population health research center at the university of Washington dc medicine that provides rigorous and comparable health problems. The measurement of the world’s most important health problems and evaluate the strategies used to address them is the top aim of the institution.
The Roux prize is one of the programs that is available on the Institute for Health Metric and Evaluation. Others include GBD [Global Burden of Disease], focus on antiretroviral therapy, efficacy to effectiveness, salud Mesoamerica initiative, verbal autopsy, local burden of disease and U.S. countries drivers of health study.
Roux Prize Award For Saving Lives
Roux prize has come to add value to health workers and their dedication to save lives. In one of the new release on their platform, Roux Prize 2021 awards $100,000 to a Malian physician who teaches at the University of Maryland for using health data to save children’s. Through the comprehensive vaccination program the Malian physician was able to achieve this.
Using the global burden of disease, injuries and risk factors study the Roux Prize drew from two widely used summary measures to monitor such changes in the population health.
