Application Deadline: June 1, 2024

The scholarship is offered by the Agency for Science, Technology, and Research (A*STAR), the National University of Singapore (NUS), and the Nanyang Technological University (NTU). SINGA provides a unique opportunity for students to work on cutting-edge research projects in various fields, such as science, engineering, and biomedical research.

The program also offers a generous stipend, full tuition fees, and other benefits to support the students throughout their PhD journey.

PhD training is offered in English at NTU, NUS, SUTD/SMU, and A*STAR research institutes in the student’s selected lab.

  • Support for up to four years of PhD study is offered by the grant, and it includes:
  • Costs for tuition.
  • S$2,200 monthly stipend, which will rise to S$2,700 following successful completion of the qualifying exam.
  • A one-time award of up to S$1,500 for airfare.
  • $1,000 as a one-time settlement allowance.

Eligibility Criteria 

  • All international graduates with a strong academic record and a love for research are welcome to apply.
  • Strong written and verbal English abilities.
  • Positive evaluations from academic referees

Note: SINGA is primarily meant for foreign students who are studying in Singapore for the first time; Singaporeans, Permanent Residents, and foreign students who are studying or have studied at Singaporean higher education institutions are not eligible.
