UCLA LLM Admission Requirements? LL.M. students at UCLA attend classes full-time for one 9month academic year, which commences in mid-August with a Fall semester of 15 weeks. Thus, the LL.M. The program starts 10 days before the start of classes with a short introductory course, American Law in a Global Context, designed exclusively for LLM students who don’t have a prior U.S. law degree.
However, following final examinations and Winter Break in December, classes kick off in early January for the 2nd and final 15-week semester, which concludes with law school Commencement in mid-May.

UCLA LLM Admission Requirements
22 units credit, over 2 semesters, are required to obtain the LLM degree. Students may enroll in a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 14 units each semester. So, apart from the introductory course for students who do not hold a prior U.S. law degree, there are no required courses for the LL.M. degree. LLM students set up their own program of study from the rich selection of advanced course offerings, and take these classes alongside the law school’s Juris Doctor (J.D.) students.

Resume / Curriculum Vitae Requirements
A standard resume that comes with your academic qualifications and relevant work experience is one of the basic requirements. Prospective students may submit a more detailed curriculum vitae if they want to.
Note; when you’re completing your online application through LSAC, please ensure you follow the instructions to attach an electronic copy of your cv to your application.
The personal statement is where prospective students describe their objectives in pursuing graduate legal studies at UCLA School of Law. Thus, you can discuss any matters relevant to your ability to succeed in law school and the practice of law, and any great attributes, experiences, or interests that would enable you to make a unique contribution to UCLA and the legal profession.
Prospective students must submit their transcripts to the LSAC LL.M. CAS Document Assembly Service from all graduate and undergraduate coursework evidencing their completion of a prior degree in law, like an LLB/ JD. And also submit transcripts for any other subjects in which you have earned an undergraduate or graduate degree.
Your Transcripts should include all the courses taken and grades received for university work and must be translated into the English Language.
Two/Four Letter of Recommendation
You must present two to four letters of recommendation submitted to LSAC from knowledgeable persons who can tell the Graduate Studies Committee about your academic qualifications and career interests.
You can submit a minimum of two and a maximum of 4 recommendation letters, so the choice is yours. Take note; Letters must be submitted to LSAC and may not be mailed to UCLA School of Law.
The English test is a very important factor considered in admitting international candidates. International students who are not native English speakers, or individuals who do not hold a law degree from an institution at which the primary language of instruction is English, are expected to submit a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores will also be accepted, but are less desirable. Foreign students whose native language is English, or who have earned a law degree from an institution at which the primary language of instruction is English, are not required to submit a TOEFL or IELTS score.
