Mickey Haller isn’t like other lawyers. This hotshot runs his law firm from the back seat of his Lincoln as he takes on LA’s biggest and smallest cases. David E. Kelley, the brilliant mind behind the serialized adaptation of Michael Connelly’s Mickey Haller novels, returns to The Lincoln Lawyer as the executive producer and co-showrunner. Ted Humphrey, sharing the same esteemed positions as Kelly, will also serve as the lead writer for the show, with Michael Connelly and Ross Fineman also serving as executive producers.

Building upon this remarkable team for Season 2, Dailyn Rodriguez has been officially announced as the co-showrunner and executive director, joining the talented crew, with Rob Seidemann having directed the first episode of Season 2. Netflix head of global television Bela Bajaria announced The Lincoln Lawyer would be back for season 2 during the Banff World Media Festival, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter, in May 2022. It came as no surprise to most given the show was in the top 10 for weeks after season 1’s release, and there is plenty of material from Connelly’s six books to work with that sees Mickey Haller play a central role.

The Lincoln Lawyer season 1 arrived on the streaming platform on May 13, 2022. A little over a year later, Netflix released season 2 of The Lincoln Lawyer on the platform on July 6, 2023. Part 2 of season 2 was then released on August 3, 2023, so all of season 2 is now available to watch.

Lincoln Lawyer Season 2, Part 2 Release Date: When Will We Get More Episodes?

Netflix has already revealed that the second half of Lincoln Lawyer’s second season will be hitting its platform on August 3, 2023, so you don’t have much longer to wait. The launch date for both parts one and two was announced back in June of this year, along with a bunch of first-look stills from the returning show.

We knew that main man defense attorney Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) and his prosecutor ex-wife Maggie McPherson (Neve Campbell) would, of course, be making a comeback, but the teaser also gave us our first proper glimpses at season two newcomers Yaya DaCosta (whom you may recognize from All My Children, Ugly Betty, and Chicago Med) and Lana Parrilla (yes, from Once Upon a Time).

The legal drama has already debuted five episodes, with the last one that runs being titled “Suspicious Minds”, which saw Mickey going about some risky courtroom business. Part one ends on a cliffhanger, with Mickey beaten pretty badly in a garage. Fans are going to have to be left with all sorts of questions that they’ll only find out when the season two finale finally drops.

We know that this current season is an adaptation of The Fifth Witness, the prize-winning fourth book in the crime fiction collection by Michael Connelly. We’d therefore expect to have everything wrapped up—including an answer as to who killed Mitchell Bondurant—by the end of season two. Lincoln Lawyer season two is expected to have 10 episodes in total, so the final five will be available on Netflix on August 3.

What Is Expected to Happen in Lincoln Lawyer Season 2?

With the first season adapting Michael Connelly’s The Brass Verdict, it was possible a second season could cover the third book, The Reversal. The second season covers the fourth book instead, which is called The Fifth Witness. The final scene lined up season two perfectly when it shot to the fame of someone watching Mickey Haller surf.

The person has a tattooed arm, which suggests that while Mickey was finally at peace after a surfing accident and after getting Jesus Menedez out of prison thanks to Glory Dayton’s (Glory Days) testimony, not everyone was happy about it.

Glory Days claimed the person who attacked her and killed her friend—which is what Menendez was in prison for—had a tattoo on his arm, so season two will no doubt see Haller have to deal with the fact that he might have got one man out of jail, but he’s put the one who thought he had gotten away with it back in the spotlight.

There is another overarching storyline too, though, which ties into the District Attorney’s office where Maggie McPherson, Haller’s first ex-wife, works.

The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 is an adaptation of the fourth book in Connelly’s series, The Fifth Witness. After achieving huge success on court at the end of the first season. When we pick up, Mickey’s kind of famous and has his choice of high-profile cases.

“I think [fame and success] have their good and bad sides,” Garcia-Rulfo tells Tudum. “He’s got this mojo back and his confidence back and all that, but I think that success brings a lot of bad stuff as well if you don’t know how to handle it—and I think he wasn’t ready for it.”

Who’s In the Cast of The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2?

Following the exciting conclusion of Season 1, Season 2 of The Lincoln Lawyer brings back most of the cast, with one notable exception. Christopher Gorham’s character, Trevor Elliot, does not return in the new season.
